MEETING WILLIAMSBURG’S NEEDS... ....TOGETHER:
WHAT THIS PROJECT MEANS
FOR US AND FOR YOU

Over the past couple of years, the Williamsburg Community School District Board of Education and Administration have carefully evaluated how to best meet the long-term facility needs of our students, staff, and community. This process included a facilities study, meetings to talk about district priorities, plan development, and the upcoming completion of Phase I projects at both Mary Welsh and the Jr./Sr. High School.

A Bond Issue last November didn't receive the required 60% support from the community. While last November’s proposal was not approved, we deeply value the feedback received and have used it to guide a responsive and thoughtful planning process. Since then, we’ve continued assessing our facilities through the District’s Long-Range Facilities Plan and engaged the community through two surveys to better understand priorities and concerns.

What Makes These Projects Important?

One of the clearest messages from the communities' feedback was the your interest in strengthening our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs.

In response, the Board is prioritizing improvements to CTE spaces—an investment that will:

  • Support hands-on, real-world learning

  • Enhance workforce readiness

  • Expand opportunities for student success in high-demand fields

  • Connect students to authentic, community-centered experiences

Additionally, the Board is exploring more flexible and financially responsible options, including:

  • Reducing the overall cost of the proposal

  • Phasing improvements over time

  • Aligning the pace of change with what feels manageable for our community

This project represents a strategic, community-driven investment in the future of Williamsburg students. It reflects our shared values and a commitment to creating safe, modern, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.

Thank you for continuing to engage with us as we work together to build a stronger future for our schools and community.

On NOVEMBER 4, 2025, you'll see the following language on the ballot.
